COUNSELLOR PROFILE Bev Dyck was born and raised in Saskatchewan. She is married and has four grown children and four grandchildren. Bev is an experienced counsellor, having graduated from Briercrest Biblical Seminary with a Master of Ministry and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry degree (counselling specialty). Bev has also studied Adlerian Psychology and uses it extensively. As she was training, she and her husband applied the Adlerian principles as quickly as they could learn them and have been extremely grateful for the respectful ways it has taught them. Bev works well with people of all ages. She does both secular and Christian counselling. She had a passion to put counselling concepts into simple, creative, compact illustrations that are easy to understand and to remember. Bev has a great love for people and works well with people of all ages. She is fascinated by family dynamics and positive disciplines that enhance family interactions. Besides being a Counsellor, Bev is also a part-time pastor and parent educator. She has done numerous parenting and other presentations in Saskatoon and throughout the province. Bev is interested in democratic, synergistic leadership and workplace interactions. She has been doing continued learning in democratic, synergistic leadership and workplace interactions. She has attended several NASAP - North American Adlerian conferences and ICASSI- International Summer School. Bev believes in life long learning. She loves to learn from those around her. Bev has accessed supervision under an Adlerian psychologist. She has also written a number of booklets and created cards to enhance her counselling concepts. Bev is fascinated by family dynamics and positive disciplines that enhance family interactions. She has a deep interest in what makes couples relationships healthy and gently challenges both partners to do their part, equipping them with tools to help them relate more meaningfully. She especially has a love for co-dependent people, for mid-life struggles, depression, marital issues, personality study, anger problems and parenting (especially where it involves "spirited" children or those who struggle with ADHD). Bev works with children to help them make choices that work better for them. See Counselling Techniques. Bev has personally struggled with depression and brings compassion to this. She has personally experienced the mid-life struggle and is perceptive to the challenges this poses and has experienced a time of deep healing in her own life. For relaxation she enjoys her family,music, and gardens. |
